‘Eggs Benny’ table..

It’s a rare occasion for us to get an entire morning off. So when we do, we love nothing more than a long brunch out at a great cafe. When we recently designed a table for a cafe in Dulwich Hill, we chose to name it after one of our favourite orders — ‘Eggs Benny’.
Designing the ‘Eggs Benny’ to suit a commercial space is different to designing to suit a residential spot. The ‘Eggs Benny’ is made of a recycled hardwood timber, finished with a coat of tung oil, then followed by a clear coat. The importance of the coats is to make sure that the piece is commercially viable. Doing so in this way means that it doesn’t lose it’s recycled timber look, which was important to adding to the atmosphere in the cafe.
We know how frustrating it can be sitting at a table that’s too small, especially when it’s in a cafe. We were able to reduce the amount of space by designing a slim table legs, to sit four people comfortably. That way customers can enjoy a relaxing weekend breakfast, just as we love to do!
