Our very own selfie hut
A fun project we recently built recently for fun; a gold mirrored selfie hut!
It came about after we needed something to put in a space filled with our furniture at One Fine Day Wedding Fair. We love working with the girls at One Fine Day and wanted to design a fun little activation to sit amongst our furniture which is used throughout the communal areas at the fair. It is so good for us as a team to have a chance to design and make our own projects often; keeps the creative juices flowing.
And, as everyone loves a selfie we thought it would be fun to make our own selfie hut which mixed classic Timbermill recycled timber with a splash of gold mirror.
With the inspiration of a tiny house. Slightly differently to a normal custom client, I (Sally) just found a whole lot of inspiration online (mainly Pinterest, I’m obsessed) and gave the guys these images and a rough brief and told them to just make it how they wanted. When building our own internal projects, we often challenge ourselves to use materials that we have in the warehouse - in this case we used some amazing recycled cladding we’d picked up at a clearing sale. Damon and Tom made a plan and then I worked with them to slightly refine it and they got to work whilst I organised the florals and signage.
Dani from The Make Haus (TMH) came and worked her magic on the florals with some bright pops of florals, all lending to the perfect selfie. The signage was placed strategically so you could get the perfect shot including our branding :)
It was a great hit at the fair, and we all loved it so when the fair finished it was brought back and re-installed up in our co-working space Level One. Dani from TMH visited us again, this time installing dried florals which would last a while as we’re planning on keeping this hut in situ for the time being.
