Warranty, Care & Maintenance

Timbermill Warranty

Whilst in all situations we will aim to work with you to fix your item if you have any issues, we offer a 5 year structural warranty on all of our new furniture items. This covers the structural integrity of the piece. All Timbermill items have been designed and manufactured to last a lifetime.

Standard wear and tear will always occur, and this is not covered under the structural warranty. It is the responsibility of the client to care for their item.

Please note, warranty does not apply if you simply change your mind.

Any exceptions to the above must be approved in writing by your Timbermill Account Manager at the time of order.

Caring for Timber

Please at all times remember timber is a natural product which can change over time. Whilst we can build in ways to make each piece as uniform as possible, natural variation, splitting and cracking may occur over time. Timber is a natural product.

Unless sold as specific outdoor furniture, all furniture items are built for indoor use only.

CLEARCOTE SEALER - Care instructions:

Residential cleaning products such as spray and wipe are fine to be applied lightly on top of protective clear finish (clear coat or polyurethane)

Abrasive cleaning products and cloths are not recommended

When in a commercial environment, using commercial cleaners in high use will wear down the finish over time

and will require re application every six to twelve months.

To re sand and seal - please lightly hand sand the surface with 120 grit sand paper. Brush on coat of water based sealer (we use Porters Clearcote). Once dry, lightly sand surface with a 240 grit to remove rising grain and then apply a second coat of water based sealer.

OSMO POYLX OIL MATTE FINISH - Care instructions:

Residential cleaning products such as spray and wipe are fine to be applied lightly on top of osmo finish.

Abrasive cleaning products and cloths are not recommended.

We do not recommend using a piece finished in OSMO in a commercial environment.

Light scratches or marks can be fixed by applying a very light coat of OSMO over the area. Please ensure surface is cleaned prior.

To re sand and seal - please lightly hand sand the surface with 120 grit sand paper. Brush on coat of OSMO oil, ensuring all surfaces are covered in even strokes. Once dry, lightly sand surface with a polishing pad and then brush on second coat of OSMO oil.

OUTDOOR OIL FINISH - Care instructions:

Outdoor furniture weathers with the environment, and similar to a deck when outdoor oil is used on outdoor furniture it is designed to gradually dry out over time and will require re application to avoid the timber drying out and greying too quickly. The time frame for this is very dependant on where it is kept and the surrounding environment

A general guide with outdoor oil finish, is to test the surface by dropping some water onto it. If it soaks into the timber straight away it’s time for a re oil

To re-seal brush on any kind of clear outdoor furniture oil (we have found ‘Feast and Watson Outdoor Clear Furniture Oil’ works well.)
