Whilst in all situations we will aim to work with you to fix your item if you have any issues. We offer a 5 year warranty on all of items. This covers the structural integrity of the piece. All Timbermill items have been designed and manufactured to last a lifetime.
Standard wear and tear will always occur, and this is not covered under the structural warranty. It is the responsibility of the client to care for their item.
Please understand that standard wear and tear includes things such as timber movement, colour tone changes, and natural variation and feature amongst boards.
Warranty does not apply if you simply change your mind.
Any exceptions to the above must be approved in writing by your Timbermill Account Manager at the time of order.
Please remember that timber is a natural product which can change colour over time as well as expand and contract as a result of the climate.
Whilst we design and build to allow for timber movement, colour change, splitting and cracking may occur over time.
Unless sold as specific outdoor furniture, all furniture items are built for indoor use only.
CLEARCOTE SEALER - Care instructions:
Residential cleaning products such as spray and wipe can be applied lightly on top of protective clear finish (clear coat or polyurethane) for a surface clean. We recommend applying the spray directly onto the cloth and then wiping onto the table.
Abrasive cleaning products and cloths are not recommended.
Frequent use of commercial grade cleaners will break down the coating over time. This will require the item to be re-sealed. This can happen in as quickly as 6 months.
To re-seal, Lightly hand sand the surface with 120 grit sandpaper in the direction of the grain until the RAW timber is exposed. Brush or roll on a coat of water based sealer (we use either Cabots Water Based Clear or Porters Clear Cote). Once dry, lightly sand the surface with 240 grit sandpaper to remove rising grain and then apply a second coat of water based sealer. Repeat until the surface feels smooth. We recommend at least 3 coats.
OSMO OIL - Care instructions:
Residential cleaning products such as spray and wipe can be applied lightly on top of an OSMO. We recommend applying the spray directly onto the cloth and then wiping onto the table.
Abrasive cleaning products and cloths are not recommended.
Light scratches or marks can be fixed by applying a very light coat of OSMO over the area. Please ensure the surface is cleaned prior.
To re apply, lightly hand sand the surface with 240 grit sandpaper. Brush on a coat of OSMO oil, ensuring all surfaces are covered in even strokes. Once dry, lightly buff surface with a polishing pad and then brush on second coat of OSMO oil.
There is an OSMO Oil touch up spray which can be used for minor updates.

OUTDOOR OIL FINISH - Care instructions:
Outdoor furniture weathers with the environment. Similar to a deck, when outdoor oil is used on outdoor furniture it will break down over time and require re application. The time frame for this is very dependent on the environment in which the item is kept..
Outdoor Oil penetrates the timber, which repels water. If the timber is looking dry then it should be re oiled. A general guide with an outdoor oil finish, is to test the surface by dropping some water onto it. If it soaks into the timber it’s time for a re oil.
To re-oil, simply clean the surface of the item and reapply oil with a brush or roller. We have found ‘Feast and Watson Outdoor Clear Furniture Oil’ works well and is very economical.
PAINTED FINISH - Care Instructions:
Painted finish will require regular maintenance and re-painting if it is on a countertop or work surface
We recommend a 4mm nap roller for painting bars and table surfaces
Spray and wipe can be used with a clean cloth (we use microfibre cloths)
We use either Dulux Paint or Tint Paint as standard in a semi gloss finish but the exact paint colour and type will be listed on your shop drawing, feel free to reach out if you need further information on a paint finish used.
STEEL ELEMENTS - Care Instructions:
Wipe with a soft cloth to remove any dust or anything that could wear the surface
Abrasive products are not recommended
Keep metal dry wherever possible to prevent rusting.
If your metal gets a chip/scratch, we recommend applying touch up paint to avoid rusting.
Powdercoat touch up spray paint is available. Standard colours can be found at your local hardware, or if you have a custom powdercoat colour please contact us and we can arrange a quote for a custom touch up can.
